There are website fixes and changes incoming! For one, I'm going to set up a functioning search function in two weeks based on the wonderful magic of Google Custom Search JSON API. I want results to display in the same format as ordinary entries, and other tools I've looked into don't do a very good job at this: they cling to their own style or inject ads. So it's time to dust off my JavaScript coat and work some magic.
And just in case you are wondering why I haven't fixed it before . . .
In all honesty, I simply didn't notice that search wasn't working. I intended to set the function up when I first brought my website online, but since I used the site rarely, I never tried to search anything until now.
Still sick, so I can't work as much on the site as I would like to, but I have started cleaning up this place. Should have everything necessary up and running in a few days.
First, I decided to rename the review section into the recommended section. I used to review tons of bad movies back on my old site, but now that I'm writing original fiction, I can't bring myself to crap on other people's work even when it absolutely deserves this. So now I'll only be writing about stuff that I think is worth the time.
Fixed some things under the hood too.
*stubs toe on a piece of legacy code* You bleeding piece of beholder shit, I will kill you!
Oh, I didn't see you there.
It's November, and this means it's the best time for spring cleaning and readying this site for people who aren't me. Okay, maybe me finishing my novel is the real reason for getting around to upgrading this place, but whatever.
The book is nearing completion which means it's time to start churning out content. For now, restored all the functionality to publish stuff on this site.
Welcome!
We are live, and I'm very happy about how this new site turned out. A lot of technical—and boring for most anyone—work went into it, but it's fast, responsive and conservative in design. Just as I like it.
This place is a bit barren-looking now, but emptiness is nothing but a promise of things to come. If you somehow found your way here, poke around; very soon my normal hectic posting schedule will start filling this site up, and you'll never see it like this again.
